Strategic further development of the framework conditions for humanities, social sciences and cultural sciences (GSK)

The process on the strategic further development of the framework conditions for the humanities, social sciences and cultural sciences resulted in late 2017 in the release of a strategy document (GSK Strategy) containing 41 measures divided into five thematic areas.

In dialogue with the GSK community and in collaboration with the High Level Group and relevant funding agencies, the Federal Ministry of Women, Science and Research (BMFWF) developed concrete measures in the following thematic areas:

1. Free spaces for research
2. Quality and performance measurement
3. Internationalisation
4. Alternative networking spaces
5. Promotion of up-and-coming talent

Implementation

The measures are carried out by the Federal Ministry of Women, Science and Research in collaboration with the funding agencies, the research institutions, pertinent stakeholders and the research community as a whole. Besides the new measures, certain funding, advisory and support services already existing in several areas are to be further developed. The measures will be implemented from 2017 to 2021 and assisted by a monitoring group from the BMFWF.
